another week, another lesson

goodness how the time flies. It seems like just yesterday we moved into our nice little apartment and set up house. But now, it's almost finals week. Next week is the last week of "normal" classes, and I am quite happy about that. At the same time a lot of work is looming ahead, so I must attend to that.

Oh! And as of the other day, I actually have a date for our winter formal here at college. You'd think we were still in high school the way some of the freshman are acting about it. Oh, wait. Right. Because they still think they ARE in high school. Got it.

More later,

another day at work

"it's alright. i didn't hear what she said but i knew she wasn't angry. she laughed. it's not like she was going to go get her rifle. people don't usually laugh after that."

i like this job. it's oddly inspiring at times.
other times, it's boring as all get out.
sometimes i wish i had a different job, but then some cute little old lady will come in and give me pretzels. her name is elinor.
i should get back to work, and by back to work i mean back to looking up things on the internet. like facebook. definitely intellectually stimulating.

blessings

this holiday (whether or not you believe the niceties we are taught in grade school about thanksgiving) reminds me to be thankful of what i have in my life.

my blessings

my God, my Creator, my Salvation, my Hope
healthy family & friends
a house
food
warm (and sometimes fashionable) clothing
good education and professors who care
people that believe in me, even when i don't believe in myself
my future husband. (cheesy, yes, true, also yes) he's out there somewhere. i'm just waiting to be pursued.
home.

may this holiday bring you peace and joy in the knowledge that even there are things to be sad about, there is always something to grateful for.

postponed

After a serious case of cold feet last night and this morning. I have called it off. My recital that is. I do not need to do it until next semester. Heck, it technically is not required at all. But nonetheless, it has been postponed until February. Needless to say, I am elated. Relieved. Much more relaxed than I have been in the last few weeks. I am going to watch a movie this evening, with no intent of doing anything academic. Should anything academic occur, then, well, let it occur. :)

it's better off this way

the thought occurred to me the other day, that maybe it is all better off this way.

sure, one will miss the one she loves, but would it really have worked out in the end? no. there would not have a been fairy tale ending there. so. it is better off this way. me alone. as a good man once sang, i am just here 'sittin' waitin' wishin.'
